Just as the crowd turned to catch the airborne fruit, a local mime, known for his impeccable timing, stood beneath with his hands cupped, expecting nothing but a performance of silence. The apple landed squarely in his palms. The crowd erupted in laughter. The mime looked astonished, then exaggeratedly pretended to “speak” to the apple, before dramatically tossing it back to Aristotle, who gasped in utter disbelief at the fruit’s unexpected journey from philosopher to fruit-fly.
“Is this a sign of the universe or just my lunch?” he murmured, pondering deep questions while completely ignoring the oranges rolling into the street.
