On April 23, 2026, several U.S. news outlets disclosed that the Justice Department, operating under the Trump administration, is ramping up its efforts to revoke the citizenship of certain naturalized Americans. The Target Cases Identified
To date, the Justice Department has pinpointed 384 foreign-born Americans whose citizenship is at risk of revocation, a campaign referred to internally as the “first wave” of denaturalization cases.
